Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Exegesis apps and website, provided by CV Concierge A.I. LLC ("Exegesis", "we", "us") and a DBA with the name "Exegesis". By creating an account or using Exegesis, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region) to use Exegesis.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Communications

We send service and account emails needed to operate your account (for example, sign-in verification and important notices). When you agree to the sign-up consent and create an account, you also opt in to our newsletter — occasional updates about new study content. Because your account email is already verified, we subscribe it directly; sign-ups from this website instead use double opt-in (a confirmation email). You can unsubscribe at any time from any email or in Settings. See our Privacy Policy for how your email is handled.

Your content

You retain ownership of the notes, highlights, maps, topics, journal entries, and other content you create in Exegesis. You grant us a limited license to store, sync, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you, including processing content you submit to the AI assistant when you choose to use it. Journal entries you choose to lock are excluded from the assistant's search index. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

Recordings and links you submit

Sermon Insights lets you record a talk, upload an audio file, or submit a video link so Exegesis can transcribe and summarize it. You are responsible for what you submit: only record where you have permission to do so (recording laws and speaker consent vary by place), only upload audio you have the right to use, and only submit links whose use complies with the source platform's terms.

To power these features, audio you record or upload is transcribed by a speech-to-text provider, transcripts or captions for links you submit are retrieved by a transcript provider, and summaries are generated by our AI providers. We do not download or store the media behind a link you submit. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems;
  • resell, scrape, or misuse the content or infrastructure; or
  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights.

Automated screening

Content you submit for AI processing — a recording, an upload, a link, or an image attached to a note — may be automatically screened for safety and relevance. We may decline or remove submissions that fail these checks or that otherwise violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and payments

Some features may require a paid subscription. Pricing and billing terms are presented at the time of purchase and, where applicable, managed through the relevant app store, subject to that store's terms. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable.

Study content and third-party materials

Exegesis includes texts such as commentaries, theologian letters, confessions, and hymns provided for personal study. Some are drawn from public-domain sources. This material is provided on an "as is" basis for devotional and educational use.

AI-generated content

The in-app assistant generates responses using AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. AI output is not a substitute for professional, theological, pastoral, legal, or other expert advice. Verify important matters against Scripture and trusted sources. AI features are metered: plans include a monthly allowance of AI credits (also called actions — the terms are interchangeable) that resets each month; unused monthly credits do not carry over. Optional top-up credits are spent after the monthly allowance and do not expire. We may rate-limit or adjust allowances to keep the service reliable for everyone.

Audio narration and safe listening

Exegesis can read Scripture, letters, confessions, and hymns aloud. These audio editions are machine-generated (synthetic narration and singing voices), so they may occasionally mispronounce a word or misread a line — the printed text is authoritative.

If you listen while driving or doing anything else that needs your attention, start playback before you begin, use your device's hands-free controls, and keep your eyes on the road. You are responsible for using Exegesis safely and in line with local laws.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exegesis and CV Concierge A.I. LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the app's Account settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which CV Concierge A.I. LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
