Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Exegesis account and the study data tied to it at any time. This page explains how to do it from inside the app, how to request deletion if you can't reach the app, and exactly what is removed.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way, on any device where you're signed in:

• Open Exegesis and go to Account.
• Tap Delete account.
• Confirm by typing DELETE and approving with Face ID / Touch ID (or your device password).

Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no undo, so export anything you want to keep first.

Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer access the app, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We will verify that you own the account and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner).

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your login and account record, and your profile (name and email).
• All study content you created — notes, highlights, reading history, bookmarks, reference and concept maps, topics, and interpretive-weight analyses.
• Your AI assistant ("Aura") conversations and their derived data.
• Your newsletter subscription, if you have one.

We remove this from our active systems right away; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our regular backup rotation (within 30 days). We keep only the minimal records we are legally required to retain.

If you have a paid subscription

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel the subscription in your Apple or Google account settings to stop future charges.
