Beta · every device

The Exegesis beta, on every device.

The same study workspace now runs everywhere — iPhone and iPad, Mac, Android, Windows, and Linux. Every build signs in to the same account and syncs the same notes, topics, and downloaded library. This is an early beta, so expect rough edges and frequent updates.

Desktop first-launch setup

The Windows and Linux beta builds are not code-signed yet, so each adds a one-time prompt the first time you open the app. (The Mac app and the mobile builds install through Apple TestFlight and Google Play, so they need none of this.)

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded installer. If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.
  2. Follow the setup wizard — it installs Exegesis and adds a Start-menu shortcut.

Linux

  1. Mark the AppImage executable: chmod +x exegesis-beta-linux.AppImage
  2. Double-click it (or run it from a terminal) to launch — there is no separate install step.
  3. If it will not start, your distribution may be missing FUSE. On Debian/Ubuntu: sudo apt install libfuse2

What to expect in beta

  • Every beta build shares the same backend — your notes, topics, and downloaded library stay in sync across phone, tablet, and desktop.
  • Features land on mobile first, so a few surfaces may still be catching up on desktop.
  • Builds are pre-release. Only install from this page or your TestFlight / Google Play invite so you always get a known-good build.
  • Found a problem? Send a note to the Exegesis team — beta feedback shapes what ships next.
